Glasgow Women's Library Auction

If you are a regular AHM blog reader, you will be aware that Sam recently donated ‘I want the love that’s the due of my heart (for Mayakovsky)’ and ‘Interior Landscape’, and a one-on-one discussion of an artist’s work to the Glasgow Women's Library Auction of Pleasures.

They were overwhelmed with the quality of food, drink and auction items that were able to offer guests and are absolutely thrilled that these collectively raised over £8000 on the night.

The Womens Library Auction of Pleasures is happening tonight (Friday 17th September), and Sam has some donations up for grabs.

Sam has contributed 2 small artworks that can be bid for.

She is also offering to spend two hours with a young artist to discuss their work with them.

As well as being great offerings, the money raised goes towards a worthy cause - The Womens Library.

A Dinner and Auction to raise funds for Glasgow Women’s Library refurbishment of their new home at the Mitchell Library.

The Auction of Pleasures will be a memorable, magical evening of good food, good company and entertainment for the best of causes. There will be the opportunity to bid on unique, innovative items that excite and please the senses; from bespoke garments, year-round culinary delights or why not bag a truly fine artwork – there will be something in our Auction of Pleasures that you will be tempted to bid your all to have. Within a stunning venue make sure you add your name to the remarkable women of achievement in Scotland who will be in attendance.

£45 per person or £400 for a table (10 people)

The Glasgow Women's Library is also looking for auction items that may be unique experiences or items that excite and please the senses - if you can offer something, please contact the library.

Sam - The Women's library

Sam has offered to organise a fund raising auction for the Womens Library, (Glasgow) which is a national resource and close to her heart; the Library will move to a permanent home in the Mitchell Library but needs to raise a lot of money to enable this to happen. Sam's idea is to ask every woman artist in Scotland to contribute a work for the auction and she has signed up her right hand woman, Shauna McMullan, a brilliant artist (and ex student) to help her organise this later in 2010.
