Yesterday David attended the talk by Catalina Lozano (Residencies Co-ordinator Gasworks Gallery London) about the Gasworks Residency Programme and their principle based on hosting as opposed to commissioning and curating.
Gasworks hosts up to twelve residencies a year, encouraging the exchange of ideas between international and local practitioners.

Established in 1994, Gasworks is a contemporary art organisation based in South London, housing twelve artists' studios and offering a programme of exhibitions and events, artists’ residencies, international fellowships and educational projects.
Biography
Catalina Lozano holds an MA from Goldsmiths College, and is a PhD candidate at the Ecole des Hautes Etudes en Sciences Sociales, Paris. She works as Residencies Coordinator at Gasworks, London where she curates a programme of artists’ residencies and outreach activities for artists based outside the UK. She is involved in various curatorial projects at Gasworks and independently.
